Amongst the Top most Gospel Musicians in Sierra Leone, there is always a man that has impacted many other young potential gospel musician helping them identify their talent and providing a platform to showcase their God-given talent. This qualities and more other good qualities one can wish for a mentor is that accolade that is given to God’s servant Pastor Samuel C.C. Johnson popularly known by his stage name Samuel Johnson. He is a singer, songwriter, Vocal Coach, Mentor, Consultant & also doubles as a Full time Pastor.
Samuel Johnson before assuming the position of a Pastor went through the Albert Academy for his secondary Education and later continue his tertiary education at the Njala University College and the Evangelical College of Theology where he went for his Pastoral Studies and Ministry. Through his entire academic life both primary, secondary and tertiary, he has been known for his musical gesture.
He was one of the leading vocalist in a group called The Wesley Knight with Min. Daniel Bangura, Pastor Pete Dalton, Chemsford Leaks, Junior Sesay (Jay) & others. Their group was one of the best Group in Sierra Leone during their era.
With the call and grace of God upon his life, Pastor Samuel Johnson had a terrible accident in the year 2014 that got his right foot seriously damaged. It was really a miracle seeing Pastor Sammy on his right toes again because the report of Doctors was to amputate his foot but God turn the report around as it is in Isaiah 53:1 “ Who hath believed our report? And to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed?. To God be the glory the foot was restored.
He is married to a very supportive wife, industrious and virtuous in spirit with two kids, a boy and a girl and has wrote countless songs to name but a few: The Pa ein ball yei, Me God e Big, Thumbs Up Salone, My Help etc.
Pastor Samuel Johnson is the convener of One Worship experience a platform use to gather people from different ethnic groups, different Church denomination as well, non-Christians who come together to worship God in one spirit, one mind and one heart. This experience has blessed so many lives with lots of testimonies to tell and of course it is an annual event that is held in November of every Year since it inception.
